My wife and I were looking for a family-friendly protestant church and, two years ago, found this church of Kalamazoo County people who care about others. A cafe contemporary church service - The Journey - is developing at 11:15, while still offering a traditional service that my wife and I enjoy at 9:15. There are lots of opportunity for spiritual discussions, children's programming, fellowship, community outreach, and other activities. They even support a local Boy Scout troop. I'm glad we checked them out.
I recently moved to kalamazoo and was searching for a church, until I found this one. People are so friendly and it already feels like I'm home.
I am so glad God called me to be the pastor at Milwood United Methodist Church. At 9:15 a.m. I get to worship with an amazing choir, once a month the handbells team with the choir and organist for classic traditional music that will make an heart strangely warmed. I am blessed to serve a church that knows God is bilingual and speaks many different languages to many different people. The people of Milwood United Methodist Church out of having a heart for all people (but particularly the ones that aren't with them yet) launched a Cafe Contemporary style worship to meet the needs of a diverse people. The Journey praise band jams it out for Jesus trying to stir the spirit through music and powerful worship. Two different languages, but we know both are spirit filled. Beyond worship you can paint Milwood Little League dugouts with us, or volunteer at Woods Lake or Milwood Magnet, where we are their faith partners, help serve over 200 at a spaghetti Milwood Little League dinner, help support foster families, feed the hungry, join one of 7 small groups or a special study on Financial Peace U or parenting or just come to connect and enjoy community at any of our events (Block Party, Gingerbread House @ Xmas, Movie nights etc.) You'll find a home here!
