Me, 2017: "My condition is worsened, can I please make an appointment?"
I went to Bronson Advanced Cardiology about 2 years ago to find out why my heart arrhythmia keeps getting worse. After wearing a heart monitor for more than a week and having an EKG done, they had no answers for me. I was told the EKG was inconclusive because the technician did not capture a picture of my largest heart valve. Which one would think is the doctor offices problem and therefore they would re-test due to their error. Instead they wanted me to spend more money and have a scope done. I spent out of pocket more than $2k to have zero diagnosis or conclusion to my issue. The only plus side of it is they allowed me to make payments on their services that were inconclusive/erroneous so it wouldn't go on my credit.
Amazing office and my Dr is the best I've ever been able to find.
Bronson Nurse, 2017: "You are considered a new patient and need a new referral from your primary physician. Office policy. Goodbye."
Can you feel the compassion? I understand it has been a long time, but Dr. Reinoehl specifically said to make an appointment if *ever* I needed to. Instead, I'm blocked on the phone by a completely dispassionate nurse that clearly couldn't care less if I got an appointment or died on the street. But boy howdy, if I'd had that referral then maybe I'd be somebody.
After being experimented on by the electrophysiologist at the Heart Center for Excellence, now know as the Borgess Heart Center, for over 10 years, I finally fired them and now see Dr. Reinoehl, who pretty much fixed all my strange arrythmia problems in one visit. His P.A. is just awesome as well.
Dr. Reinoehl, 2006: "You're okay for now, but if your condition worsens, come right back."
Take care with doctors. Lots of variability.
