Ice facilities are not well maintained. Adult league scheduling is terrible. Burdicks has a great rotating beer selection. Food is over priced.
Food and service have gone downhill recently. Beer selection still good. Burger way overcooked. Fish and chips are terrible. Something has changed. Won't be back for awhile.
This place sucks because they would not let me skate with my little brother during “basic skills class.” Worst, crappiest, ugliest skating place in town. The bleachers are nasty and oily and dirty. The restrauny above gave me food poisoning once. I do not recommend this dump for anyone. If you want to not get sick.
Skating here is good, unless you are expecting there to be rules followed. I find weekday skates during the day to be the best.
If you are a brand new skater without a lot of control I'd wait and see what the public skate group looks like before paying the money. Tag and kids pushing each other on the walkers and letting them slide across the ice seems to be a common occurrence here with no one stopping it. If it's one of their hockey teams breaking the rules there seems to be even less desire to correct them or tell them to stop.
Overall a nice rink, but the lack of a real snack bar is an issue when you can't bring in a simple soft drink because of the on-site restaurant.
Great if you go to one of their programs (learn to skate and adult hockey are fun) but public skate when busy is one of the least organized skates I've ever been to and would recommend Lawson when possible.
